Givebutter
Broad nonprofit fundraising and donor engagement platform with CRM, marketing, auctions, peer-to-peer fundraising, events, and mobile tools.

Compare
Givebutter is built around year-round nonprofit fundraising and donor engagement. EventEase is built around running fundraising events. Both platforms can help organizations raise money, but they approach events, participants, supporters, and pricing differently.
At a glance
Givebutter may be the better fit if you want a broad nonprofit fundraising platform with CRM, auctions, marketing tools, peer-to-peer fundraising, and a mobile app.
EventEase may be the better fit if your priority is running the event itself — registrations, sponsorships, participants, payments, event operations, supporter relationships, and bringing the event back year after year.

Participant experience
Fundraising events don't always fit neatly into a one-person, one-profile model. That's especially true for schools, PTOs, sports organizations, and family events where one parent may be managing registrations or fundraising for multiple children.
Givebutter's own documentation notes that one email address can only be used to sign up for one team-member profile. It specifically identifies parents signing up multiple children as a common example. Givebutter suggests using multiple email addresses or, for Gmail users, aliases such as parent+1@gmail.com and parent+2@gmail.com as a workaround.
This documented limitation concerns team-member fundraising profiles, not every Givebutter donation or ticket purchase.

Your supporters shouldn't have to become users of your event software.
EventEase separates the person managing the transaction from the people participating in the event. A parent can register or manage multiple participants without every child needing a separate EventEase login.
One parent can manage the family. The kids can just participate.
Side by side
Both platforms cover many of the same fundraising needs. The bigger differences are in what each platform is built around and how those tools work together for events.

Pricing
Givebutter gives organizations a choice. Under its current Standard pricing, organizations can keep optional Givebutter tips enabled and pay no platform or processing fees on eligible online transactions under the Givebutter Guarantee.
Givebutter says these tips are optional and can be edited or removed by supporters.
Organizations that do not want Givebutter tips shown to supporters can disable them. Under current Standard pricing, Givebutter then charges a 3% platform fee plus payment processing.

We don't think your supporters should have to figure out how not to pay us.
EventEase charges transparent transaction fees instead of asking your supporters to tip our software. Your guests, donors, sponsors, and registrants came to support your organization. That's where we want their attention to stay.
If you choose to let supporters help cover transaction costs, that contribution benefits your organization. It is not a tip to EventEase.
Event operations
Givebutter has legitimate event functionality. EventEase’s differentiation is that the event itself is the center of the product — registration, people, sponsorships, payments, and day-of operations live together.
Individuals, teams, sponsors, guests, and add-ons — with card, ACH, check, and paid-outside options.
Ticket types, packages, merchandise, and limited quantities tracked with the rest of the event.
Packages, logo collection, and sponsor visibility on your event website.
People by name and role — not only ticket counts — with lists coordinators actually use.
Collect online, send sponsor invoices, and track check and cash alongside card payments.
Volunteer lists and communications alongside the rest of your event people.
Day-of check-in, pairings, hole assignments, and other event-specific logistics.
CSV exports for finances, people, sponsors, orders, and attributed donations.
Participant fundraising pages when they fit your event, with gifts attributed to each registrant.
Foursomes, sponsorships with golfer spots, starting holes, and golf-event operations.

Your event, year after year
When it's time to run your event again, you're not starting from scratch. Build from a previous event, keep your history organized, and stay connected to the people who have participated, sponsored, donated, or supported you before.
And when committees change or someone new takes over, the event doesn't leave with the person who used to run it.

Supporter experience
Your supporters can register, sponsor, and donate without creating an EventEase account. It works on phones, tablets, and computers with no app to download.
No EventEase account to create, and no software tip prompts at checkout. You can optionally let supporters help cover your transaction costs when that fits your event.

Best fit
Givebutter is strong fundraising software. Depending on what your organization needs, these are areas where it may be the better fit.
Givebutter is designed for organizations managing donor relationships beyond individual events — contacts, giving history, and ongoing engagement in one fundraising CRM.
Built-in auction functionality is a legitimate Givebutter advantage for galas and fundraisers that rely on silent or online bidding.
Mature individual and team fundraising profiles with goals, stories, teams, and leaderboards — a strong fit for walkathons, a-thons, and large peer-to-peer campaigns.
Givebutter offers a mobile app for event check-in, in-person giving, and on-site activity. EventEase does not currently offer a comparable organizer app.
Givebutter includes nonprofit marketing capabilities, with additional automation, messaging, reporting, and engagement tools available through Givebutter Plus.
Givebutter documents a broad integration ecosystem, including Zapier and additional native connections through Givebutter Plus. EventEase does not offer a comparable public integration marketplace today.
Why EventEase
If your organization runs fundraising events — especially school, family, golf, or recurring annual events — these strengths are worth weighing.
Registration, sponsorships, participants, payments, assignments, reporting, and operations live together — built around the event, not only the campaign.
Designed so the purchaser or account holder and the participants do not have to be the same person. One parent can manage the family.
Customer history, past audiences, and event cloning help annual events build on what came before instead of starting over.
Purpose-built golf tournament management — foursomes, pairings, hole assignments, sponsor packages with golfer spots, and optional live scoring.
EventEase never asks supporters to tip our software. If you choose to let supporters help cover transaction costs, that contribution benefits your organization — not EventEase.

No. EventEase charges the organization through transparent transaction fees instead of asking supporters to tip our software.
Not for every transaction. Ordinary donations and many checkout flows do not require every supporter to become a Givebutter fundraiser. Team-member fundraising profiles do require a Givebutter login, and Givebutter documents that one email can only be used for one team-member profile.
For team-member fundraising profiles, Givebutter documents that one email address can only be used for one profile. Givebutter’s help center specifically discusses parents signing up multiple children and suggests using multiple email addresses or Gmail aliases such as parent+1@gmail.com as a workaround.
Yes. Participants can receive fundraising pages tied to their event registration, with gifts attributed to that registrant and a coordinator view of progress.
Yes. Givebutter includes built-in online auction functionality. Auctions are not a core capability of EventEase Experience today.
EventEase is purpose-built for charity golf — foursomes, pairings, hole assignments, sponsor packages with golfer spots, and golf-event operations. Givebutter can sell registrations and accept donations for a golf fundraiser, but does not specialize in those golf workflows.
It depends. Givebutter is strong for peer-to-peer campaigns and year-round fundraising. EventEase is often a better fit when schools, PTOs, and sports organizations need registration for multiple participants, sponsorships, and event operations — especially when one parent is managing several children.
Givebutter. It is built as a nonprofit fundraising CRM for ongoing donor engagement. EventEase keeps useful customer and supporter history across events, but it is event-management-first rather than a full donor CRM.
