Supporter experience

Zeffy's $0-fee model is funded by optional contributions from donors at checkout. That's a legitimate business model, but it means part of the cost of the software is being presented directly to your supporters.
According to Zeffy's own documentation, Zeffy determines the suggested contribution shown at checkout based on the transaction amount. Donors can change it or choose $0, but nonprofits cannot customize the suggested amounts or contribution wording. Zeffy says around 60% of donors choose to contribute.
That experience has generated complaints from some Zeffy customers. On Zeffy's own public feedback board, nonprofit users have reported donor confusion, unintended contributions, refund requests, and supporters who believed the additional amount was going to the nonprofit. One April 2026 nonprofit user reported donors accidentally leaving a suggested 17% contribution because they did not realize they could change it.
EventEase takes a different approach.

Two different approaches to pricing
This is one of the most important differences, and it is worth stating plainly.
Zeffy
Zeffy charges no platform fees and no transaction or card-processing fees to nonprofits. Organizations keep 100% of what they raise. Zeffy is funded by optional tips from donors at checkout. Donors can choose to contribute, but are not required to.
That $0 organizational-fee model is a legitimate advantage if minimizing fees to your org is the priority.
EventEase
EventEase has no monthly subscription. You pay transparent transaction fees when you process payments — typically a 2.5% EventEase fee on cards and 1% on ACH, plus Stripe processing. Some event types, including Color Runs, are 1% EventEase and capped.
